PLOT
On an estate near Kiel, the body parts of a man who was a member of a hunting party are found in an animal trap. Everything suggests that a militant animal-rights activist is behind the murder. But Borowski soon learns that the hunting party is hiding something: the members had selected the remote estate so that they could illegally hunt bears that they specifically bought for this purpose. When another body part is found by a tanner, the tide turns again. A serial murderer appears to be playing a murderous game with Borowski and the police. When the gamekeeper of the hunting party finds himself in mortal danger, Borowski begins a race to find the killer.
PRESS
“Based on the story by Henning Mankell and the script by Daniel Nocke, the director Claudia Garde has formed a perfect team around Axel Milberg, with actors such as Susanne Wolff and Sven Pippig.”
FOCUS
“In the end the viewers, like Borowski, may have to come to terms with the thought that the subdued snowy landscape of a large animal safari, directed by Claudia Garde (director) with an assured sense of style, might be a mere diversionary tactic – which is too bad since that would mean that the rich hunters who are so condescending to the commissioner, will probably not have to serve the prison sentence that they deserve. "
FRANKFURTER ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG
“Every figure has something special. The director calls it their “unique features.” She has selected actors to whom eccentricity is becoming.”
TITTELBACH.TV
“... But it is entertaining, a grotesque crime thriller of a different sort, cleverly directed by Claudia Garde.”
