PLOT
A dream has come true for Martina Schneider, her husband Stefan, and their son Daniel. They finally have their own four walls: a semi-detached house in an idyllic suburban neighborhood. All signs point to a new beginning. Even the crisis that compelled Martina to stop working has been overcome. With her family, Martina forms a well-functioning microcosm. The highly sensitive woman often finds the outside world unfamiliar and threatening. Nobody is aware of how much energy it costs hers to meet the demands of life. The fragile balance of the family is deeply disturbed when the new neighbors move into to the other half of the house. Evelin and Klaus Garbers are friendly, and interested in getting to know their neighbors. The two families become friends. Martina admires her new friend. But gradually a destructive neurosis begins to break out behind the facade of the pretty twin house...

PRESS
“"I didn’t want to make a thriller," says director Claudia Garde. So it is: psycho without thriller is exactly what she has magnificently achieved with screenplay author Thomas Schwank and their convincing actors. It only makes sense that the production was awarded ‘best film’ at the Munich Film Festival in 2006.”
